--
IFEMA is the Trade Fair Institution of Madrid. Its 30-year experience of staging trade fairs has made it the most important of its kind in Spain and one of the leaders in Europe. Its activities centre on the staging of commercial events representative of the different industries and the managing of its space and infrastructure for every type of activity: from trade fairs organised by third parties to conventions, congresses and any type of meeting or event. Its principal aims are to generate wealth and development for the Madrid Region and project the image of Madrid within and beyond our borders.
IFEMA is an international showcase for companies of all types, but it also supports entrepreneurship, talent and new brands and businesses. That is why in 2016 it reinforced actions that focused on providing coverage to business initiatives, making the fairs the best lever for the launching of new projects and products. And all this without overlooking social responsibility, which is one of the key factors that guide the future of IFEMA. We are an institution that is committed to sustainable development, social responsibility and good practices in all areas that enable the launching of entrepreneurs and start-ups in most of its activities.
Since 2007, IFEMA has been certifed as a Family Responsible Company (efr),which guarantees the protection and support for the family in labour relations through conciliation and equality policies. It is helped here by Fundación +Familia, a charitable organization that promotes the delivery of solutions in this area.
The International Fair of the Fruit and Vegetable Sector Fruit Attraction celebrates on October 18 and 19, as in previous occasions, at the Ifema fairground with an exhibition area of 45.000 square meters.
This year are expected 60.000 professionals of the sector and a total of 1.500 exhibitors from 30 countries specially from Italy, France, Portugal, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Belgium.
Among other novelties, this year The Nuts Hub will be incorporated, dedicated to nuts, which will allow all companies in this area to present their products and contact the entire industry and the distribution channel. As for the Seed Planet area, focused on seeds and plant varieties, it will highlight its importance as a starting point for the food chain and other consumer chains, as well as its value for a more competitive agriculture. There will also be Smart Agro, which aims to boost digital transformation and technological innovation of all links in the food-processing chain.
